Dear SCA Families and Community,
I am delighted to share with you the news that Dana Dillard-Jackson has been selected as the new Principal of Smithson Craighead Academy. Mrs. Jackson's appointment comes after a competitive selection process, which involved valuable input from staff, parents, and the community. Her wealth of experience and dedication to our school make her an excellent fit for this role.
Many of you already know Mrs. Jackson as she has been an integral part of our school community, serving as Assistant Principal of SCA. Her deep understanding of our values, traditions, and successful practices will undoubtedly contribute to her success as Principal. Mrs. Jackson's official start date will be July 1, 2023. I am confident that she will ensure a seamless transition in leadership.
Over the past eighteen years, Mrs. Jackson has made significant contributions to SCA as both an Administrator and Teacher. Her unwavering commitment to maximizing student potential and fostering innovation through collaboration has positively impacted countless students, teachers, and families. We are excited to see her bring her expertise and passion to her new role as Principal.
Outside of her professional accomplishments, Mrs. Jackson is happily married to her loving husband, Nate Jackson, of 22 years. She is an active member of her church community and enjoys engaging in various hobbies during her free time; such as reading, drawing, painting, cooking, and cherishing moments with her family.
